El Camino College

El Camino College developed a provocative, witty parody about the importance of student learning outcomes and associated faculty hesitations. This video features two faculty members at the water cooler talking about assessing student learning. The video highlights the work faculty members do routinely in their daily practice to document what students know and can do. To those ends, El Camino College has developed a chart illustrating the differences between Course Objectives and SLOs. Faculty members are guided through the SLO assessment cycle for their individual classes which are framed through institutional core competencies. Additionally, El Camino College has made its Assessment Plans and Assessment Reports accessible, in both access and language, to the public.
