University of Kansas

The University of Kansas’s Student Affairs Assessment webpage clearly communicates its assessment practices through its Strategic Plan, Learning Outcomes for the division and departments, Projects and Reports, and Tools webpages. In addition to their Student Affairs Annual Impact Reports, the Projects and Reports webpage highlights the use of these learning outcomes in designing and completing assessment projects within each of the departments. There are also assessment resources located on the Tools webpage to inform ongoing assessment efforts.

The learning and development goals were adopted as a division after review and alignment with the KU undergraduate core and an extensive process of seeking feedback from full-time and part-time staff members. Finally, an assessment committee meets monthly to plan and discuss Student Affairs assessment efforts.

Given the clarity of its learning outcomes assessment practices, the University of Kansas’s Student Affairs Assessment webpage is this month’s Featured Website in the category of Communication.
