NEEAN is happy to announce that the opening plenary session at the 2020 Fall Forum (November 5-6) will be presented by Olatokunbo (Toks) S. Fashola, Ph.D., a Research Professor in the School of Education at American University. The conference theme is “Desirable Changes Towards Equitable Outcomes.”

Dr. Fashola is the Faculty Coordinator for American University’s Dual Enrollment program, and the Principal Investigator for two Career and Technical Education grants with DC Public Schools.  She is also currently the lead evaluator for the Center for Stem Education and Research (CSER) center, and she serves on the evaluation team for the National Science Foundation’s LSAMP center at Chicago State University, and on the Lincoln LEAPS project, also funded by the National Science Foundation. Dr. Fashola has over 25 publications and several books, including Show Me the Evidence! Proven and Promising Programs for American Schools, and Educating African American Males: Voices From the Field.  She has evaluated STEM projects and educational programs for the NSF, NIH, National Academy of Sciences, among others, and has more than two decades of experience and research in culturally responsive evaluation and assessment, STEM in underrepresented students, and educating African-American males.
